Gankutsuou: The Count of MonteGankutsuō: ‘The Count of Monte Cristo Is an anime series based on the novel by French playwright Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo.

Gankutsuō is notable for its animation different from the average, with advanced management layering and the use of 3D, this to give some boost to the animation.

Gankutsuō is located in the year 5053, by which mixes elements of nineteenth-century novel, with high technology, space travel and the use of fuses. Each chapter has an introduction in French.

While visiting the carnival of Luna, the Vicomte Albert de Morcerf and the Baron Franz d’Epinay know the Count of Monte Cristo, a mysterious foreign lord, who shows some interest in the Vicomte de Morcerf. On the last night of Carnival, Albert is kidnapped by the gang of Luigi Vampa, a known criminal and mercenary, who asked to Franz a ransom of 50 million ducats.
